Thr3e is more psychological than most of his stuff. You should be fine. Of course, I’ve never found him particularly gory (except Skin. which is worth it because BEST PLOT TWIST EVER.) I can see how people can dislike the Paradise trilogy because…

I think as his books get newer he gets more gory. IMO. Because I read his latest two (Book of Mortals and Immanuel’s Veins) and they felt more gory than the Circle and waayyyyyyyyy more gory than Blessed Child (which I’m pretty sure is one of his very first books, looking at it here…)
